About Naomi

Naomi1I started performing comedy and spoken word solo sets in 2009 on the small scale cabaret and comedy circuit.

I premiered my debut solo show, Reshape While Damp, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012.

I took the show to FIRST: a Festival of Solo Performances, at the Tristan Bates Theatre, London, in January 2013.

In March 2013, I headlined ‘Change’, a festival of new writing for Pulse Ensemble Theatre in New York.

Other appearances include the Birmingham Literature Festival and the Stratford-upon-Avon Fringe, sell-out shows at the Henley Fringe, Birmingham Fest and Birmingham Comedy Festival,  and spoken word at Wenlock Poetry Festival.

I have appeared regularly at ‘Tell me on a Sunday’ at the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham and am a member of Flashlight True Life Tellers. I compere events and run writing and storytelling workshops. I have performed occasionally with Box of Frogs improvisation group in Birmingham, and for role play work in medical training. I am also a member of Big Script.

I was one of the participants in Writing West Midlands’ writer development scheme for 2015-16.

I was also artistic associate for the Arts Council funded project Long Journey Home: true life migrant tales
